We are looking for an experienced Advanced FPGA Design Engineer for a 6+ month contracting opportunity in the Bloomington, MN area.  This company engineers high tech solutions, products and services that enable customers to execute successful operation missions.

Contract Labor Advanced FPGA Design Engineers research, design, develop and test military electronic equipment and systems including: avionics mission computers, stores management systems, signal and radar processing systems and related equipment.  The selected candidate will participate in a team environment to execute FPGA Digital Logic Design, Synthesis, Timing analysis, Verification and Lab integration activities.

 • Responsible for definition, design, verification and documentation for FPGA development
 • Determines detailed design approach
 • Translates customer requirements into a cost-effective design that is optimized for manufacturing and periodic operational maintenance
 • Defines FPGA interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
 • Evaluates the process flow including but not limited to high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
 • Creates test and verification plans that establish functional criteria
 • Verifies test results and analyzes performance
 • May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees

 • Be very familiar with constraint generation for synthesis and timing analysis
 • FPGA design and verification tasks
 • Participate in a team environment to execute FPGA Logic Design activities targeting Xilinx and/or Altera FPGAs, Synthesis, Timing closure, Verification and Lab integration
 • Board and Module digital logic design
 • Expert level Verilog coding skills
 • Familiar with constrained random verification approaches
 • Familiar with SystemVerilog and VHDL
 • Experience with high speed interfaces and complex memories
 • Familiar with high speed switch design approaches
 • Network Protocols such as 1G Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 1553 and PCIe
 • Expertise with various scripting languages and scripting approaches

At least 8 years of relevant work experience consisting of FPGA Verilog HDL Digital Logic Design techniques, methodologies and related verification activities

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
A U.S. Government DOD security clearance is not required for this position.
