Our client in the Twin Cities Metro Area has an immediate opening for an
Avionics Module Designer to join their team. The position provides an
opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our
nation's fundamental defense services. You would have the opportunity to work closely with esteemed
customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national
security missions.

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or
field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of
relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant

Key Responsibilities:

Avionics Module Designers research, design, develop information processing
hardware to operate in a harsh military environment. Avionics hardware consists
of various electrical system components mechanisms, materials, circuitry,
equipment and processes.  The selected candidate will be responsible for
the design of circuit card assemblies based on the system hardware
requirements, selecting electronic components, implementing the schematic design,
directing the layout and routing of printed wiring boards, performing design
analysis/simulation, and supporting system integration.  Additional
responsibilities include evaluating the system performance, implementing test
plans and writing design documentation.

Selected candidates will also:

 • Transform customer objectives and system requirements into compliant

 • Work well with interdisciplinary teams consisting of mechanical,
thermal, reliability, safety, manufacturing engineers and others to provide
quality designs in compressed time-frames

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 • Recent experience with current release Mentor Graphics DxDesigner
schematic capture and printed wiring board design tools as well as Hyperlynx (required)

Successful candidate must have extensive current working experience with:

 • X86 processor (XEON class) design

 • X86 memory design (DDR3, DDR4, NAND FLASH, NOR FLASH)

 • FPGA module design (Xilinx [required], Intel (aka Altera))

 • Knowledgeable on high speed interface design (PCI3 Gen 3, Ethernet- 10/40 Gbps, 25/50/100 Gbps), SATA

 • Fundamental knowledge of high speed signal designs

 • Lab experience for bringing up processor design
